Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris to Host Lunch Feb. 25 at HuHot

Sheriff Robert "Bob" Norris will host "Lunch with the Sheriff" on Feb. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at HuHot Mongolian Grill, 226 W. Ironwood Drive in Coeur d'Alene, giving residents a chance to ask questions and raise concerns while a complimentary lunch is provided.

Norris and members of his administration will be on hand to discuss issues affecting Kootenai County and receive feedback directly from attendees. The event is billed as an open forum for community input on local public safety and county issues, with staff available during the noon-hour window to speak one-on-one with residents.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office promoted the event on social media; a Facebook post titled "Lunch with Sheriff..." was posted by the department and the office "limited who can comment on this post." The captured post showed nine reactions and two shares at the time the notice was recorded. The Sheriff's Office has also used Instagram to promote related outreach and fundraising efforts, including a Tip-A-Cop post inviting the public to "enjoy a great meal, meet local deputies, and support an amazing" cause.

This HuHot lunch follows a previous outreach event held Dec. 3 called "Pizza with Your Sheriff," when Sheriff Norris hosted a Toys for Tots kickoff from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cascadia Pizza Co., 1422 West Appleway Avenue in Coeur d'Alene. Santa was present to help open the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Toy Drive, community members were encouraged to donate new toys, and complimentary pizza was offered while the sheriff and his administration gathered feedback from the public.

HuHot Mongolian Grill at 226 W. Ironwood Drive will serve as the venue for the Feb. 25 event; the sheriff's office communications indicate the lunch is complimentary. The continued series of public meet-and-greets, including Tip-A-Cop fundraising posts and the December Toys for Tots kickoff, shows the sheriff's office maintaining multiple in-person outreach formats this winter to solicit community input and support charitable efforts.

The Feb. 25 lunch provides a scheduled opportunity for Coeur d'Alene residents to speak directly with Sheriff Norris and his staff between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at HuHot Mongolian Grill, 226 W. Ironwood Drive, with a complimentary meal available during the event.
