Coeur d'Alene police are asking residents across Kootenai County and the Spokane area to help locate two 15-year-old runaway boys, Elijah James Boerner and Michael Robert Magee, after the department shared their photos and descriptions in an urgent search.

Police said Boerner ran away on Monday, May 11, 2026, with Magee. Families believe the boys may still be in the Spokane, Washington, area or may be traveling south toward Los Angeles, California. One report says police believe they may be on bicycles.

Boerner is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, 150 pounds, with brown eyes and short brown hair. Magee is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 140 pounds, with light brown hair and blue eyes. Police said Boerner stole money from his parents before leaving and was trying to obtain a fake ID.

The Coeur d'Alene Police Department asked the public to be on the lookout for the boys and to report any possible sightings immediately. If someone sees Elijah James Boerner or Michael Robert Magee, authorities want local law enforcement contacted right away.

Missing persons cases are handled through the Coeur d'Alene Police Department Investigations Division, which serves a city of more than 57,000 residents. The case remains active as police and family members try to narrow the boys' path through northern Idaho and eastern Washington.

Anyone with information that could help identify where the boys are should contact law enforcement without delay.
