Rathdrum Invites Sealed Bids for Lancaster Road Water Main Extension

“Sealed Bid Proposals for Lancaster Road Water Main Extension project will be received by the City of Rathdrum, Idaho, located at 8047 W. Main Street, Rathdrum, Idaho 83858, until 10:00 A.M. (local time), on Thursday, March 5, 2026 and then publicly opened and read aloud. All interested individuals are welcome to attend.” The city’s invitation establishes a hard delivery deadline of 10:00 a.m. local time on March 5, with bids to be hand-delivered to City Hall at 8047 W. Main Street.

The city describes the work as “construction of 2300 LF of 12” Water Main and asphalt pavement placement. Other construction items include: water main fittings & valves, hydrant and traffic control.” Aggregated listings add specificity: an Idaho Bid Network entry itemizes 2,252 linear feet of 12-inch diameter PVC C900 pipe, 120 square feet of 4-inch concrete sidewalk, 415 square yards of full-depth asphalt patch for roadway, 242 square yards of full-depth asphalt patch for path, and other items including butt joint asphalt and general earthwork. City notices and bid aggregators differ on the exact linear footage (2,300 LF versus 2,252 LF); the Public Works bidding documents are the controlling source for final quantities and specifications.

The city’s award decision is tied to easement negotiations. “The City of Rathdrum is currently in negotiations with a private property owner on the procurement of an easement(s). If the easement(s) is NOT successfully procured in a timely manner, the City of Rathdrum will proceed with awarding Alternate Bid No. 1 only.” The public notices do not identify the property owner, parcel numbers, or the contents of Alternate Bid No. 1.

Bidders may obtain bidding documents from the City of Rathdrum Public Works office; faxed or emailed proposals will not be accepted. All bids must remain valid for 60 days after receipt, and the city reserves the right to retain bids up to 60 days, waive informalities, and reject any or all bids. A separate City of Rathdrum solicitation for Washington Street Improvements is printed alongside this notice; that project’s sealed bids are due 10:00 a.m. March 12, 2026 and include demolition of 4,300 yd2 of asphalt and placement of 780 tons of asphalt pavement over 1,450 tons of stone subbase, among other items. Prospective bidders for Lancaster Road should deliver sealed proposals to City Hall, confirm the final quantities and easement status with Rathdrum Public Works, and plan to attend the public bid opening on March 5.
