Junior Auxiliary of Oxford Hosts Velvet Rodeo Fundraiser March 28 for Local Children

Dust off your boots and point them toward The Powerhouse. The Junior Auxiliary of Oxford will hold its fourth annual Spring Fling fundraiser, "Velvet Rodeo," on March 28 from 3 to 6 p.m., with every dollar raised going toward the organization's 11 active projects serving children and families across Lafayette County.

The western-themed afternoon will feature live music by The Litigants, a silent auction, cocktails, small bites, and pop-up shopping from a lineup of local vendors that includes Oxford Hat Bar, Blue Delta Denim, Double B Boots, and It Fits The Bill. Each ticket comes with two complimentary drink tickets. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the theme by donning western attire and "dusting off their boots" for the celebration of music, philanthropy and community.

Organizers say the event is designed to bring the community together for an afternoon of fun while raising funds to support the organization's service projects. Tickets, donation options, and sponsorship opportunities are available through the Junior Auxiliary of Oxford's website, where buyers supporting a specific active member can include her name in the special request box at checkout.

The Junior Auxiliary of Oxford has grown considerably since becoming an official chapter in 1989 with 44 members. Today, the organization counts 60 active members and 31 provisional members working across those 11 dedicated children's service projects.

The Velvet Rodeo arrives with deep sponsor backing from across the Oxford business community. Crown sponsor Meek Foundation and champion sponsor Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center head a roster that also includes Riverland Roofing, Jimmy John's of Oxford, Tito's Handmade Vodka, Renasant Bank, Square Books, Rebel Rags, Lafayette Pediatric Extended Care, and more than a dozen additional local businesses and law firms.
