Nadja Britt Photography opens new Oxford studio with ribbon cutting
Nadja Britt turned a search for better photos of her first child into a new Oxford studio now serving weddings, newborns and corporate events.

Oxford added another locally owned creative business Friday as Nadja Britt Photography opened a new studio at a city-hosted ribbon cutting, giving the city a new storefront devoted to portraits, video work and event coverage.
The opening adds to Oxford’s small-business base in a way that reaches beyond the usual restaurant and retail news. Nadja Britt Photography LLC describes itself as an Alabama-based studio centered on “genuine, timeless moments,” and Britt has already built a client list that includes weddings, parties, maternity photos, newborns, holidays and corporate events.
Britt’s path into the business started about three years ago, when she wanted better photos of her first child. She began practicing on her daughter, then turned that interest into paid work and eventually built a professional photography business with enough demand to support a dedicated studio space. Britt also offers videography, and she has said she wants to keep her services affordable so more people can access quality pictures.
Mayor Alton Craft attended the ribbon cutting and welcomed Britt to Oxford, telling her, “We appreciate you coming to be a part of Oxford.” The city’s involvement reflects a formal Groundbreaking & Ribbon Cutting process it uses to help introduce new businesses to the community and put them in front of local customers, civic leaders and other small-business owners.

For Oxford, the new studio is a sign that the city’s creative economy is widening. A photography business with a physical storefront can serve families who need portraits, couples planning weddings, parents booking newborn sessions and companies looking for corporate media, all without sending that work outside the community. It also shows how a personal need can grow into a service business with broad local reach.
Britt’s opening on April 10, 2026, gives Lafayette County another example of a small business taking root through a mix of personal entrepreneurship and public support, adding one more specialized service to Oxford’s business landscape.
