North Mississippi Health Services Opens New Primary Care Clinic in Oxford

North Mississippi Health Services has opened the South Oxford Medical Clinic at 2888 S. Lamar Blvd., bringing comprehensive primary care to a corridor of Oxford that has seen steady growth in recent years.

The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is positioned to serve individuals and families of all ages across Oxford and Lafayette County. North Mississippi Health Services described the clinic's focus as building lasting patient relationships and supporting long-term health, distinguishing it from urgent or episodic care.

"Expanding access to care in growing communities like Oxford is an important part of our mission," said David Barber, president of North Mississippi Medical Clinics. "South Oxford Medical Clinic allows us to better serve patients of all ages with convenient, high-quality care close to home."

Local health officials called the opening a key step in community wellness, according to the announcement, though no specific agency or individual was named in the initial release.

The South Lamar Boulevard location adds to a healthcare landscape in Lafayette County that has expanded noticeably over the past several years. Oxford Health Care Associates, located at 2716 W. Oxford Loop Suite 171, has offered primary care, dental services, and behavioral health services since opening its central Oxford location in 2019, with Spanish-speaking translators available on site. Charger Health and Wellness opened in 2021 to serve students, teachers, and staff within the Oxford School District, as well as children in surrounding areas. NMPHC Holly Springs, at 1705 Crescent Meadow Drive in Holly Springs, launched in 2024 offering low-cost primary and preventive care, behavioral health services, and immunizations regardless of patients' ability to pay.
