The Old Taylor Road alert came amid a string of sheriff’s office road updates that kept changing the county’s travel map over several days. A general road closure update went out July 16 and 17, after earlier closure notices on July 13 and July 15. Those alerts included a road closure slated for July 14, another road closure post on July 15, and the July 16 update that said County Road 332 was back open while Cutoff Road was scheduled to close the next day.

For drivers in Oxford and the surrounding parts of Lafayette County, the pattern meant repeated changes to routine routes rather than a single isolated shutdown.
