A free, all-ages night at The Lyric Oxford will give Singlewide a hometown stage for its debut EP and a chance to turn casual listeners into regulars. Doors open at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, with the show set for 8 p.m., and the band will play songs from the new EP along with new originals and favorite covers.

The six-track, self-titled EP arrives on streaming platforms the next day, giving Singlewide a built-in launch pad before the songs reach a wider audience. The Lyric listing also says the bar will serve cocktails and mocktails, a detail that helps make the event feel like more than a standard club date, especially in a college town where free entry can bring in younger fans who are just starting to follow live music.

Singlewide began as a partnership between siblings Cooper and Luci Eddleman, who started by playing music at home and later took lessons together at Oxford House of Music. Cooper later picked up banjo so the two could perform together, and the project expanded into a full band with bassist Coop Bell and drummer Dylan Carlisle. The band’s website lists Cooper Eddleman on lead guitar, banjo, harmonica and vocals, Luci Eddleman on guitar and vocals, Bell on bass and Carlisle on drums. It describes Singlewide as an alternative country and Americana band from Oxford founded in 2025.

That hometown origin story matters because Oxford’s music economy still depends on new acts moving from informal circles into rooms that can sustain repeat audiences. Singlewide has already started building that path. The band played the Blue Delta stage during the Double Decker Arts Festival, and a September profile noted earlier stops at a pizza shop in Water Valley, Taylor Grocery, The Coop, The Lyric and a private party at The Graduate. In other words, the group has already moved beyond family-room rehearsals and into the local circuit that keeps Lafayette County nightlife active.

The EP was recorded with North Mississippi musician and producer Bradley Gordon, known as Gordo, which ties the project to a broader regional sound. Singlewide’s influences include alternative country, rock, bluegrass and Americana, and the group has been described as an emerging force in Oxford’s North Mississippi music scene. That kind of momentum can matter in a town where live music has long been venue-driven, from the Hoka Theater to the Gin, and where a free release show can do real work: filling a room, widening the audience and sending a new local band back into circulation.
