Two former Ole Miss commits, Ridgeland safety Trae Collins and Callaway offensive tackle Li’Marcus Jones, will be on the Ole Miss campus for official visits on June 12, the players confirmed in social posts earlier this month. Collins’ Instagram update lists his official visit window as June 12th-14th, while both players’ tweets show the visits are “locked in.”

Trae'Kerrion Collins is listed at 6-2 and has been reported between 175 and roughly 180 pounds; he transferred to Ridgeland after time at Hazlehurst/Hazelhurst and finished last season with 55 tackles, 10 pass breakups and five interceptions. Collins posted on X as supaman on Feb. 17, 2026: “Locked n @drm_12 @OleMissFB @CoachTMc @TimSteward__ pic.twitter.com/Lb1vbtTXJj” and an Instagram post reads in part: “UPDATE: Trae'Kerrion Collins, four-star Safety, will take an official visit to Ole Miss, June 12th-14th. The 2027 prospect, listed at 6'2 (180-” He is rated among the nation’s defensive backs, listed as a Top-200 player nationally and a Top-20 safety by Rivals, and Collins has said his top offers include Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Michigan, Ole Miss and Mississippi State, adding that “Florida State just offered me, too.”

Li’Marcus “BUG” Jones, listed at 6-5 and 285 pounds, is a four-star offensive lineman and a Top-25 rated offensive tackle in the 2027 cycle. Jones posted on X on Feb. 16, 2026: “Officially visit locked in with @OleMissFB @CoachGolding @drm_12 @CoachGarrisonOL @ReggieBuchanan @wpg_coach_rip @coach_tko @ChadSimmons_ @TomLoy247 pic.twitter.com/vdY4Zu7uoN.” Jones wrote on X that he is reopening his recruitment: “After careful consideration and talks with my family, I have decided to re-open my recruitment. I have great respect for the Ole Miss coaching staff, the program, and the opportunities they presented to me, but I feel it’s in my best interest to REOPEN my recruitment 100%.” He has drawn major-school interest, with offers reported from programs including Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, Oregon, Colorado and Tennessee.

Both recruits were early commitments to Ole Miss in the 2027 cycle but backed off their pledges amid the coaching change that followed Lane Kiffin’s move to Baton Rouge. Collins addressed that decision directly, saying “I was committed to Ole Miss but I decommitted. It wasn’t just because of Lane Kiffin and it was more about my recruiting coach leaving with Lane. But when I decommitted they started talking to me a lot more. So we will see how it goes and they are still a top option.” Jones has said he decommitted because he “felt like I committed too early” and wanted to evaluate cultural fit and get to know the coaches better.

The June 12 visits will be an early measure of Ole Miss’ ability to re-secure two high-priority in-state prospects for the 2027 class. Collins’ social posts show a June 12-14 visit window while both players’ X posts list multiple Ole Miss staff handles in their confirmations; neither player has announced a re-commitment, only that official visits are scheduled. The decisions these two Mississippi prospects make after their Oxford visits will shape the Rebels’ in-state haul for 2027.
