Eugene police and Lane County Search and Rescue announced that a 73 year old woman reported missing from the Santa Clara area was found after a concentrated search earlier this week. An update posted by authorities said, "Thank you for your help. She has been located." The woman s name and photo were redacted in the public notice.

The initial report came from a life long friend and roommate who said the woman did not return to their shared home after being last seen on December 22 around 11 00 a m. The roommate reported the woman s car was gone and that her phone went straight to voicemail, which was out of character. Eugene police opened the case as 25 20688 and called on the public for assistance.

Police described the missing woman as a 73 year old Caucasian, thin build at about 120 pounds, 5 foot 2 inches, with short grey hair, brown eyes and glasses. At the time she was last seen she was wearing glasses, a grey USC sweatshirt, blue jeans, black and white sneakers and carrying a black purse. She was associated with a grey Mazda CX vehicle. Lane County Search and Rescue joined law enforcement in the search, and authorities asked anyone with tips to call the Eugene Police Department non emergency line at 541 682 5111.

For local residents the case is a reminder of vulnerabilities that can affect older adults living independently, and of the practical role neighbors and roommates play in early detection when someone does not return as expected. The timing over the holiday period also puts pressure on volunteer search resources and emergency responders, making timely reporting more important.

Eugene police thanked the community for assistance in resolving the case and noted that identifying information remains redacted to protect the woman s privacy. Community members with concerns about a missing person are urged to contact local law enforcement promptly and to provide any vehicle descriptions or last known locations to investigators.
