Eugene fire damages home, shed and power pole after transformer blows

A blown transformer in Eugene damaged a home, a detached shed and a power pole in the 2100 block of Marlow Ln., and Eugene Springfield Fire said no one was hurt. The fire started late July 31 after multiple calls came in just after 11:30 p.m. reporting flames in the shed that were extending to the house.

Eugene Springfield Fire said the electrical transformer had blown in the backyard, and Ladder 6 from the Sheldon station was part of the response. The incident turned into a structure fire, not just a small yard blaze, after fire spread from the shed to the residence and into nearby utility equipment.
