Florence Chamber Seeks Sponsors, Volunteers for Fourth of July Celebration
Fireworks over the Siuslaw River return July 4, and the Florence chamber needs sponsors and volunteers to pull off the Old-Fashioned Fourth.

Fireworks launched from the east end of the Port of Siuslaw Campground will light up the Siuslaw River on July 4, and the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce is now recruiting the sponsors and volunteers needed to make it happen.
The chamber announced the return of "Fireworks Over Florence" on March 30, framing the event as a regional draw for central Oregon Coast visitors and a full-day celebration for Florence families. Organizers are working in coordination with the City of Florence and community partners including the Port of Siuslaw.
The celebration, branded as the city's "Old-Fashioned Fourth," runs all day with a Porch Parade, a bicycle parade, pie- and watermelon-eating contests, and kid zones before the riverfront fireworks cap the evening. The display is widely visible from Old Town Florence's waterfront, where the Siuslaw River mirrors the show back across the water.
Behind the spectacle is a logistics-heavy operation: barge permits, marine exclusions in the launch zone near the campground, and safety coordination across chamber, city, and port staff. Sponsors who commit early gain prominent exposure during one of the busiest holiday periods on the central coast; volunteer groups can sign up now to help shape programming and staffing before positions fill.
As in previous years, Oregon State Parks and city rules prohibit private fireworks on the beach and on other public lands. Organizers are expected to publish viewing maps and parking guidance in the weeks ahead to manage the crowds that the event draws from across the region.
Sponsorship packages and volunteer information are available through the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce and City of Florence event listings.
