With Lane County's unemployment rate sitting at 5% heading into 2026, a full percentage point climb over the prior year, WorkSource Oregon Lane is trying something it has never done before: five consecutive afternoon career fairs, each targeting a different industry sector, all held at its Eugene office on Oakmont Way.

The series, officially titled "Your Career, Your Week," runs Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3 at 2510 Oakmont Way, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. WorkSource has held sector-specific career fairs before, but this marks the first time the organization has stacked them on consecutive days.

"You can really get into your skills and desires in terms of the type of work industry that you are pursuing," said Julie Davidson, area manager for WorkSource Oregon Lane.

Each day is paired with a specific sector: health care and social services on Monday, manufacturing and skilled trades on Tuesday, technology and innovation on Wednesday, and education, government and nonprofit on Thursday. Friday's focus covers retail, logistics and additional fields. Employer partners will be on site each day to discuss current openings, career pathways, and training opportunities, while WorkSource staff will provide resume and interview guidance.

Davidson described the atmosphere as deliberately accessible. "Attendees can expect a low-pressure environment," she said.

Supervisor Joseph Land framed the week as a direct extension of the office's broader mission. "We encourage the public to take advantage of this opportunity to speak directly with our employer partners and learn more about the breadth of career options in our region," Land said. "This is just one example of the many services we offer at no cost to help people find a job or get the training they need to be successful."

The event is free. Registration is encouraged but not required, and drop-ins are welcome on any or all five days. Job seekers are encouraged to bring resumes and be prepared for possible on-site interviews. Those who want to get ahead of the week can register in WorkSource's job seeker database at iMatchSkills.org.
