Trinidad Carnegie Library Offers Legal Clinic, Storytimes in April
Free legal help from volunteer attorneys is available April 16 at the Trinidad Carnegie Library; slots are limited and require an advance appointment.

Free civil legal advice is available at the Trinidad Carnegie Public Library on April 16, when the Las Animas Legal Clinic convenes from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 202 North Animas Street. Slots are limited, and attendance requires an advance appointment.
To reserve a seat, call Colorado Legal Services-Pueblo at (719) 545-6708 and select Option 3. The organization staffs the clinic with volunteer attorneys who assist people who have no attorney of their own, with a focus on low-income residents and members of vulnerable populations, including seniors, throughout Colorado.
The clinic covers civil matters, which can include housing disputes such as evictions, family law questions, and problems with public benefits such as denied or terminated claims. Residents are encouraged to ask when scheduling what documents or information to bring for their particular situation. The library can also field questions at 719-846-6841.
The third-Thursday schedule makes the clinic a recurring monthly resource rather than a one-time event. For Las Animas County residents who cannot easily reach legal aid offices in Pueblo or navigate regional court systems without help, that predictable timing removes a meaningful barrier to civil legal counsel. The clinic returns on the third Thursday of each subsequent month as well.
The Carnegie Library, which has served the Trinidad community since 1904, pairs the legal clinic with other April programming: regular storytimes for babies and toddlers and staff assistance for residents signing up for RAVE/Smart911, Las Animas County's emergency notification system. The full April events calendar is available through the library, and staff are on site weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
