Club Pilates was set to take the third and final space at 2024 Cromwell Dixon Lane, closing the last vacancy in a shell building that already housed Jersey Mike’s and CupBop. The lease matters beyond one more storefront: it turned an unfinished commercial project into a fully occupied building in one of Helena’s newer retail pockets.

Owner Liz Maruca said the studio was expected to open in late July or early August, giving the buildout a clear timeline after months of work. The Helena site will be Maruca’s third Club Pilates studio in Montana, following locations in Bozeman and Billings. That expansion underscores how the brand, founded in San Diego in 2007, has grown into a network of more than 1,300 studios worldwide.

The Helena opening also showed how fitness is continuing to anchor parts of the city’s commercial growth. Club Pilates will join fast-casual restaurants in a corridor where daily traffic is already being pulled by multiple tenants rather than a single standalone business. Filling the last space in the building makes the project look less like a speculative shell and more like a completed retail cluster with a stable lineup of uses.

Inside the studio, the launch was still in its final training phase. Instructors were working through certification, a process that takes about six months, while teachers from Bozeman were expected to help cover classes in Helena. The schedule was set to include introductory 30-minute sessions for newcomers and more advanced classes for experienced members, giving the studio a range of options from the start.

For Helena’s west-side commercial growth, the final tenant is a signal that the market is still drawing businesses that depend on regular consumer spending and repeat visits. A fully leased building on Cromwell Dixon Lane points to steady confidence in the corridor’s traffic and development momentum, especially as national chains and regional operators continue to place bets on the same stretch of the city.
