Democrat Marshall Maez has entered the race for Los Alamos County Council, filing paperwork and releasing a formal campaign announcement on March 12 that centers on housing affordability, support for local small businesses, and the long-term vitality of the community.

In his announcement, Maez framed Los Alamos as a place of exceptional promise facing real economic pressure. "Los Alamos is an extraordinary place with a strong tradition of innovation and public service," he said. "But many families, workers, and younger people are finding it increasingly difficult to afford housing here, and local entrepreneurs often face barriers when trying to start or grow a business. I am running for county council because I believe we can address these issues through collaboration, thoughtful planning, and responsible leadership."
