Dianna Reichelt, who joined Los Alamos JJAB five years ago as a Resource Specialist, was named the organization's new Executive Director on March 24, stepping into the role as the nonprofit closes a chapter of sustained expansion under outgoing director Rachel Mohr-Richards.

Reichelt transitioned to the Executive Director role in March 2026, having joined JJAB in June of 2021 as a Resource Specialist and since becoming Program Manager for both the Restorative Justice and Resource Specialist programs. That internal climb gave her direct experience at nearly every level of the organization before she assumed its top position.

In her new role, Reichelt will oversee JJAB's entire continuum of care, including the recently launched Outpatient Therapy Program, Youth Peer Support, and Seven Challenges initiatives. Her appointment ensures that JJAB's strategic direction remains grounded in the needs of the youth and families in Los Alamos.

Jill Gonzales, principal of Los Alamos Middle School and a JJAB board member, offered an unambiguous endorsement. "Dianna is a vital partner who leads with strength, vision, and a clear focus on supporting our students and families," Gonzales said. "I have great confidence in JJAB's continued excellence under her leadership."

The transition comes as JJAB extends its deepest gratitude to outgoing Executive Director Rachel Mohr-Richards. During her tenure, JJAB evolved from a community resource into a leading provider of comprehensive youth support services, nearly doubling in size.

JJAB is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with an independent and voluntary board of community members who collaborate, leverage, and coordinate resources to support youth and families. The organization serves as a primary point of connection between at-risk youth and the professional support systems designed to help them.

Reichelt's appointment from within signals continuity rather than disruption, a deliberate choice as JJAB absorbs the programs and partnerships built during the Mohr-Richards years. No quotes from Reichelt were included in JJAB's announcement, and no transition timeline beyond March 2026 was specified.
