Los Alamos Senior Stetson Trujillo Signs to Rodeo at NMSU
Stetson Trujillo, 18, signed with the NMSU rodeo team for fall 2026, with 11 high school rodeos still left on his Los Alamos senior schedule.

Stetson Trujillo, an 18-year-old Abiquiu resident and Los Alamos High School senior, signed a National Letter of Intent to join the New Mexico State University rodeo team for fall 2026, with family, friends, and coaches gathering to celebrate the achievement.
Trujillo has built his competitive resume across three circuits: NMHSRA, 4-H, and NMRA rodeo, earning top finishes in steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and team roping while qualifying for multiple state and national finals. Beyond competing, he serves as an NMHSRA student director and mentors youth rodeo athletes.
"NMSU stood out as the best fit," Trujillo said. "I really liked NMSU when I visited, and the team members were super welcoming."
He is the son of Cody and Ronda Trujillo. At NMSU, he plans to study Agricultural Business and Economics alongside competing under Head Rodeo Coach Brice Baggarly and Assistant Coach Tate Harmon.

The signing does not mark a slowdown in his senior season. Trujillo still has 11 high school rodeos on his schedule before graduating in May, and he is focused on finishing that stretch strong while continuing to train for the step up to college competition.
Come fall, he will trade the Toppers' green and gold for NMSU's crimson and white.
