Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Truck Strike in Los Alamos
A 68-year-old man is in critical condition at UNM Hospital after a truck struck him Sunday morning at North Road and Urban Street in Los Alamos.

A 68-year-old man was struck by a truck and left in critical condition Sunday morning at the intersection of North Road and Urban Street, prompting an active investigation by the Los Alamos Police Department's Crash Team and Detectives.
Officers from the LAPD and medics from the Los Alamos Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection at approximately 11 a.m. Sunday, March 15. Preliminary investigation indicates a truck was making a left turn from North Road onto Urban Street when it struck the pedestrian.
The man was treated at the scene before being transported to Los Alamos Medical Center. The severity of his injuries required a second transfer to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where he remains in critical condition.
"This incident remains an active investigation and is being handled by the LAPD Crash Team and Detectives," the department said in a news release. "Because the investigation is in its early stages, details may change as additional information becomes available."

The LAPD has not released the identity of the pedestrian, the driver's name or status, or whether any citations were issued. No information about contributing factors such as speed or impairment has been made public.
The department said further information will be released when it becomes available.
