PEEC Presents Stellar Attractions Valentine Planetarium Show in Los Alamos
peec will present "Stellar Attractions" at the Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium Feb. 13, a $10, family-friendly Valentine's show exploring constellations and astronomy stories.

The Pajarito Environmental Education Center will present Stellar Attractions, a Valentine’s-themed planetarium program at the Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium on Friday, Feb. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m. Mountain Time. The one-hour show is billed as a family-friendly guided tour of the night sky with constellation stories, tales of famous couples in astronomy, and other cosmic highlights, and admission is $10 per person.
Organizers positioned the program as suitable for couples, families and groups of friends looking for a local, affordable evening out. PEEC’s promotional copy describes the event as a chance to "celebrate Valentine's Day under the stars in the planetarium" and promises a “magical experience for all.” Events in the planetarium are not recommended for children under age 4.
The Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium at 2600 Canyon Road will host the program. For reservations, questions or further information, contact the Pajarito Environmental Education Center at (505) 662-0460 or center@peecnature.org. PEEC’s listed hours at the Nature Center are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the center is closed Tuesday and Sunday. PEEC’s tax ID is 85-0478101.
Planetarium Manager Elizabeth Watts is listed as the presenter and a local connection for the program. PEEC materials note that Watts moved to Los Alamos in 1999, earned a B.S. in Physics at Birmingham-Southern College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Texas at Austin, and has a long history in informal science education. Promotional material also recalls a longtime personal link to New Mexico: a first visit 35 years ago that included earning a Bandelier Junior Ranger Badge and sampling a tortilla burger in Taos.

Promotional imagery used by outlets included NASA photography and a credit line reading "Nebula Heart NASA Heart. Courtesy B. Jensen." PEEC’s listing also carried a separate "Photo: NASA" credit.
For Los Alamos residents, the program represents both a community cultural event and a modestly priced educational outing hosted by a local nonprofit. The show supplements PEEC’s regular public offerings at the Nature Center and provides a venue for informal science education in town. Those planning to attend should note the age recommendation and contact PEEC for ticketing and accessibility details not specified in the listing. What comes next for PEEC programming will depend on audience turnout and seasonal scheduling; for now, Stellar Attractions offers a local way to mark Valentine’s with an evening under the stars.
