Pro Shop at Los Alamos Golf Course Closed for HVAC Repairs

The Los Alamos Golf Course Pro Shop has been closed while crews perform HVAC work at the clubhouse, a county notice republished by the Los Alamos Daily Post on Feb. 19 states: “Due to HVAC work at the Los Alamos County Golf Course clubhouse, the Pro Shop will be closed until further notice.” The notice lists the Pro Shop contact as 505-662-8139 for people seeking information.

The closure follows a Feb. 11 county advisory that mobilized a 50-ton crane to deliver new HVAC equipment to the clubhouse at 4244 Diamond Dr. The Los Alamos Reporter published the county release saying, “As part of the ongoing project to install a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system at the Los Alamos Golf Course Clubhouse, a 50-ton crane will mobilize through town on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026.” The release specified the crane route as “via NM 502/East Road to Trinity Drive and Diamond Drive before arriving at 4244 Diamond Dr.” and scheduled mobilization “at non-peak hours between 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. to minimize disruptions to travelers.”

On mobilization day the county directed staging of the crane in the facility parking lot and limited access. The county notice said, “The west end of the Los Alamos Golf Course parking lot will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for crane maneuvers,” and added that “All crane operations will be contained within the golf course west parking lot area.” The advisory further stated: “Once the HVAC equipment is in place, the crane will demobilize in reverse order on the same day,” and warned that “Residents and visitors are urged to use caution near the staging area to ensure safety during the crane lift. Los Alamos County appreciates the public’s patience as this facility upgrade is completed [...]”

That Feb. 11 advisory also anticipated the Pro Shop would remain open during installation, stating “The east end of the parking lot will remain open for customers visiting the Pro Shop, which will maintain normal business hours during the installation.” Subsequent notices created a conflicting timeline: the LosAlamosNM posting says, “Due to HVAC repairs, the Golf Course Pro Shop will be closed through Tuesday, February 24, 2026,” while the Daily Post Feb. 19 notice uses the open-ended “until further notice.” The Jan. 31 Instagram post in the file shows a separate one-day closure unrelated to the HVAC work: “Due to forecasted high of 27 degrees tomorrow, the Golf Course and Pro Shop will be CLOSED on Saturday, January 31st.
