SaxAtomix Brings Free Mozart Week Lunchtime Concert to Muy Salsas
SaxAtomix, a local amateur saxophone quintet, played a free Mozart Week lunchtime set at Muy Salsas on Trinity Drive Wednesday.

A local saxophone quintet brought Mozart to the lunch crowd at Muy Salsas on Trinity Drive Wednesday, performing a free one-hour concert as part of Los Alamos Community Winds' Mozart Week.
SaxAtomix, a five-member amateur ensemble drawn entirely from the Los Alamos community, presented "Mozart and More" at the 1315 Trinity Drive restaurant Thursday, March 12, from noon to 1 p.m. The group has played together since 2017 and includes Bryan Fearey, Wendy Keffeler, Adolfo Meana, Joyce Guzik, and Paul Lewis.
The program mixed classical ensemble pieces from Mozart with a decidedly lighter touch elsewhere. "We will also perform humorous takes on Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and the William Tell Overture," the group noted in its announcement. Irish, Spanish, and Latin numbers rounded out the hour.

The concert was one of several events organized under the Los Alamos Community Winds Mozart Week umbrella. The Community Winds, which sponsors the annual observance, lists additional Mozart-related events at lacw.org. SaxAtomix maintains its own web presence at saxatomix.org.
Admission was free and required no advance reservation. The announcement was posted March 9, three days before the performance.
