Menominee Nation shut out by Lourdes Academy, losing streak reaches six
Menominee Nation was blanked 14-0 at Gillett Triangular, and the Eagles’ six-game skid has now stretched into a second straight blowout.

Menominee Nation’s offense never got out of neutral Saturday at the Gillett Triangular, and the Eagles’ 14-0 loss to Lourdes Academy pushed a six-game losing streak deeper into the spring. After a 16-1 defeat to Hilbert in the previous game, the Eagles had no time to reset and no room for another slow start.
The result showed more than a lopsided final score. Playing on consecutive days tested Menominee Nation’s ability to recover physically and mentally, and it also raised the same question that has followed the team through the opening weeks: does the roster have enough depth to absorb a short turnaround and still compete? The Eagles opened the 2026 season with a 13-1 loss to Amherst on April 9, then went through a run of heavy defeats that left them still searching for their first breakthrough of the year.
Lourdes Academy, meanwhile, looked every bit like a team carrying momentum. The Knights improved to 6-2 and have won five games by more than seven runs this season, a sign that the shutout of Menominee Nation was part of a larger pattern rather than a one-day burst. Zella Tidemanson controlled the game in the circle, allowing only two hits, no earned runs and striking out 10 over five innings. Sarah Hafemeister added pressure at the plate, reaching base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
For Menominee Nation, the numbers on its team page show a lineup still trying to settle in. The Eagles’ stats page, last updated April 14, listed Taylesia Pamonicutt and RaeAnne Summers as the batting-average leaders at .500, Maizy Mikle atop the on-base percentage chart at 1.000, and Cecilia Grignow with a 6.56 ERA. Those figures reflect a small sample, but they also underline how early the season still is for a program trying to find stable production on both sides of the ball.
Menominee Nation competes as a medium-school member of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association with 376 students in the Menominee Indian School District in Keshena. That context makes each short stretch of games especially important, because a brief slump can quickly shape the rest of the spring. The Eagles now need a cleaner offensive night and a steadier pitching response before the losses define the season.
