Key West Conchs Baseball Stays Perfect With 10-0 Start to Season
Auggy Davila's four RBIs helped Key West baseball beat NSU University School 10-7 to stay undefeated at 10-0 through early March 2026.

The Key West Conchs baseball team remained unbeaten through the first stretch of the 2026 season, keeping a perfect 10-0 record intact as of Keys Weekly's March 13 coverage, with a comeback road win over NSU University School serving as the most recent measure of the team's depth and resilience.
NSU University School drew first blood on Feb. 24, taking a 1-0 lead against the visiting Conchs before Key West began its response. Both teams traded runs through the third inning, arriving at the fourth knotted at 5-5. Key West then poured on four more runs in the fourth to seize a lead the Sharks could not overcome, with the Conchs leaving Fort Lauderdale with a 10-7 win.
Auggy Davila was the standout at the plate, stacking up four RBIs on a single and a triple. Darreld Treminio contributed two base hits, while Donovan Thiery and Kade Maltz each doubled. Xavier Perez, Nelson Ong, and Jackson Bernhard all added singles as Key West's offense racked up nine runs on the day. Five Conchs pitchers shared the workload on the mound across the contest.
The baseball win was part of a busy week of Keys prep sports. Marathon teams also earned victories during the same stretch of early-March play, though specific box scores for Marathon baseball were not available. On the softball diamond, the Key West Conchs dominated Marathon 9-1, while Marathon softball picked up a win of its own with Key West blasting three home runs in a separate game. Key West wrestlers extended the program's district championship streak to 17, and a half-dozen Florida Keys wrestlers qualified for state championships.

The Conchs' 10-0 start places the program squarely in the conversation for postseason contention, drawing on a tradition that includes the program's all-time single-season record of 35 wins set in 1996. Program records compiled by Thezone977, pending official verification, show Ralphie Henriquez III as the career hits leader with 142 between 2002 and 2005, followed by Clinton Storr with 117 from 2003 to 2005. Frankie Ratcliff Jr. holds the program record for career runs scored with 107 from 2006 to 2009, and Preston Herce was hit by a pitch 21 times from 2019 to 2022, a program record.
The program's most celebrated historical season, identified in Thezone977 records as likely 1995, drew an average of 1,000 fans to each home game and culminated in a 6-4 win over Seminole Osceola in the State Final 4 in front of more than 2,000 Conch fans, securing the school's eighth state championship.
With spring schedules deepening across the Keys, the 2026 Conchs have given their community every reason to keep watching.
