A new Keys Dermatology office on Overseas Highway gives Upper Keys patients a closer place for skin cancer exams, Mohs surgery and other dermatology care, reducing the need to travel off-island for specialty appointments.

The practice marked the move with a ribbon cutting and open house on April 9 at 82245 Overseas Highway, MM 82.2, oceanside, in Islamorada. The Islamorada Chamber of Commerce hosted the celebration from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., turning the opening into a public event that drew chamber board members, ambassadors, village officials, patients and friends.

Rob Stober, the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce board president, and DeeDee Vasquez, a Keys Dermatology physician assistant, cut the ribbon in front of the new office. The setting underscored how a medical move can ripple beyond one business, especially in a community where residents often weigh convenience, travel time and access to specialty care when they need treatment.

Keys Dermatology says it has served the Florida Keys community for more than 25 years and now operates in both Islamorada and Key West. The practice says its services include medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology, along with skin cancer exams and Mohs surgery, making the new Islamorada location an important addition for patients in the Upper Keys who want those services closer to home. The office lists its contact number as 305-664-8828.

The team tied to the Islamorada location includes Kelly Balestra, PA-C, who has been with Keys Dermatology since 2018 and brings more than 15 years of dermatology experience. Balestra earned a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Nova Southeastern University in 2009. DeeDee Vazquez is described by the practice as a certified physician assistant with a concentration in dermatology and more than 13 years of clinical experience, including skin cancer screenings and patient education.

The opening invitation called on guests to tour the new space, meet the team and spend an evening focused on skin health, beauty and confidence. It also offered 20% off Botox for attendees, a reminder that the new office is part medical practice, part neighborhood business and part signal that Islamorada continues to draw investment in local health care.
