Jacksonville Memorial Hospital names Morgan Ramirez May Colleague of the Month

In Jacksonville Memorial Hospital’s emergency department, Morgan Ramirez is the nurse colleagues say they can count on when the pace spikes and the unit needs help. That reputation earned Ramirez, RN, the hospital’s May Colleague of the Month honor, announced June 1.

Ramirez joined Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in May 2022 and has built her name in one of the hospital’s most demanding units. The nominator said Ramirez “consistently goes above and beyond for others with a positive attitude,” shows excellent patient care and willingly assists outside his department when there is a heavy patient load or a gap in coverage on another unit.

The recognition carries added weight at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital, a critical access hospital that serves Morgan, Cass, Scott, Greene and Brown counties. Memorial Health says the hospital has served residents in those counties for more than 150 years and is the largest critical access hospital in Illinois. Emergency services are available 24 hours a day, a reality that makes dependable bedside staff like Ramirez central to how the hospital functions.

Memorial Health says the Colleague of the Month award is reserved for employees who exemplify excellence and reflect the organization’s mission, vision and values. In a hospital setting, that kind of acknowledgement is about more than a certificate on the wall. Jacksonville Memorial Hospital also points to its nursing record as part of the institution’s identity.
