Desert View Hospital Expands Scholarship Program, Offering Six Awards Totaling $5,000
Desert View Hospital opened applications for six scholarships totaling $5,000, with an April 30 deadline for Pahrump-area students and adult learners.

Desert View Hospital opened applications for its second annual scholarship program, offering six awards totaling $5,000 to graduating seniors and adult learners across a wide swath of Nye County and beyond.
Area residents and graduating seniors of the class of 2026 are now eligible to apply for the DVH Scholarship program, with six awards available. Eligible zip codes span not only the Pahrump Valley but also Amargosa, Beatty, and Tonopah, as well as communities over the state border in Shoshone and Tecopa, California.
Applicants do not need to pursue education in health care, though the hospital notes that "additional points will be awarded in the scoring rubric for applicants who are pursuing health care-related education." That means whether a student plans to attend a state university, community college, or a vocational program, they are eligible to apply.
DVH CEO Susan Davila set the tone for the program when it first launched. "Investing in education is investing in our community's future," Davila said. "Through this scholarship program, we aim to empower individuals to achieve their educational goals and enhance the overall well-being of our community."
The scholarship program is one piece of a broader push by the hospital to invest in local students this year. The Pahrump Valley High School Student Council recently received a $10,000 donation from Desert View Hospital to support additional leadership training opportunities for its members. DVH Marketing and Outreach Coordinator Ryan Muccio framed both efforts as part of the same philosophy. "Desert View Hospital is here because of this community, so giving back is something we take seriously. We're intentional about how we invest our time and resources, focusing on efforts that create real opportunities and fill gaps that might otherwise go unmet," Muccio said.
The deadline to apply is April 30. Applications are available online at desertviewhospital.com/scholarship-application, and questions can be directed to Muccio at 775-751-7130 or Ryan.Muccio@UHSInc.com.
