Nevada Stronger Expands Addiction Recovery Services, Peer Support in Pahrump
Nevada Stronger is expanding addiction recovery in Pahrump with a peer-support model that pairs lived experience with integrated clinical care.

Nevada Stronger, a Pahrump-based addiction recovery nonprofit, is scaling its services in Nye County with a model that pairs peer support directly alongside integrated clinical care, case manager Lonnie Harris confirmed.
Harris, who works within the program, shared details of the expansion with the Pahrump Valley Times. The program's approach centers on connecting people in recovery with peers who have shared lived experience, while also providing access to clinical services within the same framework. That combination, peer-grounded support working in tandem with professional care, reflects a growing body of evidence that sustained recovery outcomes improve when community connection is embedded in treatment rather than treated as an afterthought.
Nevada Stronger's growth in Pahrump comes as rural Nevada communities continue to face disproportionate challenges in accessing behavioral health services. Nye County's geographic isolation and limited healthcare infrastructure have historically made consistent addiction treatment difficult to sustain locally, making the presence of a homegrown nonprofit with expanding capacity a meaningful development for residents who would otherwise face long drives to Las Vegas or Reno for comparable care.

The peer support component is central to the organization's identity. Rather than relying solely on clinical staff, the model draws on individuals with firsthand recovery experience to guide others through the process, building trust in ways that traditional treatment settings often struggle to replicate. Integrated clinical care provides the medical and therapeutic backbone that peer support alone cannot supply, and Nevada Stronger's expansion appears designed to strengthen both sides of that equation in Pahrump.
