Nye County Announces Holiday Office Closures, Emergency Services Remain Active

Nye County officials on December 22, 2025 announced that all county offices would close from Wednesday, December 24 through Friday, December 26 in recognition of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. In alignment with a federal executive order, offices will also be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026 for New Year observance. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, December 29 following the Christmas holiday.

The closures affect administrative and clerical services that residents commonly need during the holiday week. Applications, permit processing, licensing services and in person counter transactions that rely on county office staff will be paused during the closures, and routine inquiries may not be answered until offices reopen.
