Nye County Treasurer’s payment system down during tax bill generation

Nye County has taken its Treasurer’s Office payment system offline while staff generate FY27 tax bills, pausing both online and in-person payments during the shutdown. The county posted the notice on July 8. The system is expected to be back online by Monday, July 20.

The interruption affects residents and businesses that normally pay property taxes through the Treasurer’s Office. No payments can be accepted online or in person while the system is down, and urgent questions or concerns should be directed to Treasurer@nyecountynv.gov or 775-751-4200.

The Treasurer’s Office collects property taxes for several taxing entities in Nye County, and more than 59,000 property tax bills are mailed each year.

Raelyn Powers is treasurer. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a lunch closure from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m., and it is closed Fridays. County offices are at 170 N. Floyd Street, Suite 2, in Pahrump and 101 Radar Rd. in Tonopah.

Cash is accepted at the Tonopah and Pahrump office locations. Telephone payments by credit card or E-check can be arranged by calling 775-482-8147 or 775-751-4200, with a 2.95% fee, minimum $2.95, for card payments and a $1.50 fee for E-checks.

Failure to receive an individual tax bill does not excuse timely payment under NRS 361.480. Delinquent installments are assessed 4%, 5%, 6% and 7% penalties.
