Pahrump bowlers rack up top scores in club tournament at Nugget
Daryl Lasky topped Division G with a 768 series as the Pahrump Valley 500 Club packed Nugget Bowl with cash payouts, raffle winners and new faces.

The pins kept falling at Nugget Bowl on May 9 as the Pahrump Valley 500 Club held its sixth tournament of the 2025-2026 season, a Certified Regular 10-Pin Singles event that spread cash across several divisions and brought new bowlers into the mix at the Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino.
Division G produced the night’s highest numbers, led by Daryl Lasky’s 768 series. Geoff Gruis followed at 762, Jerry Taylor rolled 742, Tyler Manning posted 734 and Stan Luzuka finished at 725. The standings showed more than a single front-runner; they showed a deep field where a handful of frames could separate one payout from another.

Division A was just as tight at the top, with Judy Bloom and Deb Mallory each finishing at 704. Division R featured another strong cluster of scores, with Orpha Lasky at 723, Gloria Dofner at 722, Fran Gobbi at 714 and Chris Upton at 685. Side pots added still more layers of competition, with scratch and handicap categories giving bowlers additional chances to cash in during the same set of games.
The event also served as a welcome point for new participants. Johnathan Earl, Jabez Broadhead, Bryan Rupe, Ed Manning and Tyler Manning joined the series on May 9, underscoring how the club continues to refresh its roster while keeping longtime members in play. Joe Marassa and Earl Hallett each won $36.50 in the 50/50 raffle, another small but steady incentive that helps keep the evening social as well as competitive.

The club’s schedule points to a rhythm that many local bowlers can plan around. Events are typically held on the second Saturday of the month, with squads starting at 1:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The next tournament is set for June 13, 2026, as an 8-9 Pin No-Tap Singles certified event at the same venue, with Debbie V. and Fran Gobbi directing and Chris Upton overseeing the 50/50 drawing.

That recurring calendar matters in a county where indoor recreation can double as a community network. Nugget Bowl, at 681 S Highway 160, says it has 24 lanes and bills itself as Pahrump’s largest bowling center, with an arcade, snack bar, pro shop and cosmic bowling. For the 500 Club, that makes the Nugget more than a host site. It is the place where Pahrump’s league bowlers keep coming back, month after month, to compete, socialize and keep the local scene moving.
