Pahrump RSVP Spaghetti Dinner Raises Funds for Rural Nevada Seniors
Nevada Rural Counties RSVP held a free spaghetti dinner March 28 at Pahrump Moose Lodge 808, serving the 62 Nye County residents among 697 clients it helped in 2025.

Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program held its Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at Pahrump Moose Lodge #808 on Saturday, March 28, drawing community members to support older adults and people with disabilities across rural Nevada's 15 counties, including the 62 Nye County residents the organization served in 2025.
The event ran from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Second Street lodge, with admission free and the first 100 attendees receiving dinner at no charge. Donations were encouraged, with all proceeds directed toward RSVP programs and services.
RSVP CEO Molly Walt framed the dinner as something larger than a plate of pasta and a collection jar. "The spaghetti dinner is more than a fundraiser. It is an opportunity for the Pahrump community to come together in support of its seniors and adults with disabilities," Walt said. The funds, she explained, go toward concrete needs: "rides to lifesaving medical appointments, relief for exhausted caregivers and practical support that allows older adults to remain independent."
Walt described the nonprofit's scope to the Pahrump Valley Times: "Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc. is a nonprofit organization serving older adults age 60 and over, as well as adults with disabilities, across Nevada's 15 rural counties, including Nye County. Our mission is to help seniors remain independent, safe and connected in their own homes and communities for as long as possible."

The 2025 service numbers illustrate that need. Across its full rural Nevada service area, RSVP reached 697 unduplicated clients last year. Of those, 62 were Nye County residents, people whose continued independence at home depended in part on volunteer drivers, companionship visits, and caregiver respite that programs like this dinner help fund.
The organization's website highlights the range of that work in Pahrump specifically. An RSVP Service Coordinator in Pahrump worked with an 84-year-old caregiver who was caring for her 61-year-old son, one of several local cases that illustrate the intersection of aging, disability, and family caregiving the program navigates daily. A separate companionship volunteer joined RSVP specifically to serve clients in Nye County.
