Pahrump Valley High Baseball Hosts February Youth Camp to Fund Program
Pahrump Valley High School’s Trojans will host a youth baseball camp in February to raise funds for the varsity program while offering skill development for boys and girls ages 8 to 14. The two-day camp pairs high school players and coaches with younger athletes, aiming to build local talent, reinforce role-modeling, and support program needs.

Pahrump Valley High School will stage a Child Youth Baseball Camp in February as a fundraiser for the Trojans baseball program, offering four skill-focused sessions over two days for players ages 8 to 14. The camp will take place Saturday, Feb. 14, with infield training from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and outfield training from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 16, with pitching instruction from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and hitting instruction from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
The program is structured by age group and session pricing: athletes ages 8 to 10 may attend for $30 per session or $100 for all four sessions; athletes ages 11 to 14 are charged $50 per session or $175 for all four. Organizers describe the camp as both a training opportunity for youth and a revenue source to help sustain the high school program. Head Coach Drew Middleton said the camp is intended to serve both the baseball program and the broader community, noting that teaching players to be good role models and to give back is a priority within the program. The camp will also give varsity players a chance to work directly with younger athletes and introduce them to high school expectations.
For local families, the camp offers affordable, targeted instruction led by coaches and current high school players, which can accelerate skill development and readiness for school teams. For the Trojans program, the exercise serves as a small-scale fundraising model commonly used by high school athletic programs to offset costs such as equipment, facility maintenance, and travel. To illustrate the potential scale, if 20 participants in the older age group choose the full four-session package at $175 each, that would generate $3,500 for the program; similar combinations across both age groups could meaningfully supplement the team budget even with modest enrollment. Those figures are illustrative and depend on actual turnout.

Beyond immediate finances, the camp reinforces long-term community benefits: creating a pipeline of better-prepared athletes for the high school roster, increasing youth engagement in organized sports, and strengthening ties between families and the Pahrump Valley High athletics program.
