Kylee Siegmund walked away from the Nevada State Thespian Conference with the Director's Choice Award, a distinction reserved for performers who leave a strong impression through talent, dedication and performance quality, as Pahrump Valley High School's theatre department made its presence felt across all four days of the Boulder City gathering.

The conference ran from Wednesday, March 4 through Saturday, March 7, drawing theatre students from across Nevada for workshops, performances, leadership activities and scholarship opportunities. PVHS students were not simply attendees; some served as State Thespian Officers, helping organize conference activities while their peers competed and performed on stage.

Addie Allen and Zachary LeBlanc represented PVHS in the musical theatre performance category, taking the stage together to perform "Suddenly Seymour," the well-known duet from Little Shop of Horrors, before a panel of judges and fellow theatre students from programs across the state. Their performance put both their vocal range and acting instincts on public display in a competitive setting.

Throughout the multi-day conference, PVHS students worked through workshops covering acting, stagecraft, design and other elements of theatre production. The event also gave students the chance to build connections with theatre programs they rarely encounter during the regular school year, expanding a network that extends well beyond Pahrump.

The showing in Boulder City reflects a theatre program that has built consistent momentum at Pahrump Valley High School. Students earned awards and scholarships through performance across the conference, and their presence in leadership roles as State Thespian Officers added an organizational dimension to what the program contributed statewide.

The Trojan Theatre Players, as the PVHS ensemble is formally known, had already demonstrated that momentum earlier in 2025 with a production of Steel Magnolias, performed at the PVHS Auditorium on six nights in February. That production offered Pahrump audiences a show built around six women navigating life in a small Louisiana town, a story the company delivered with tickets priced at $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens.

Pahrump Valley High School is located at 501 E. Calvada Blvd. and can be reached at 775-727-7737.
