Pahrump Valley’s softball team turned a road trip to Boulder City into a statement, blanking the Eagles 3-0 and stretching its winning streak to eight games while finishing a two-game sweep.

The Lady Trojans did it with depth in the circle and poise in the late innings. Junior starter Evalenne Armendariz handled the first five scoreless frames, then freshman Jaycie Hayes took over and shut the door over the final two innings with five strikeouts. Armendariz also helped her own cause at the plate, finishing 1-for-2 with one RBI.

That balance has become the story of Pahrump Valley’s rise. Six different Lady Trojans recorded at least one hit, showing a lineup that is not leaning on one bat to carry the load. On defense, senior third baseman Madison Rodriguez, who is committed to Grays Harbor College, was part of the infield work, while Riley Saldana and Olivia Veloz contributed in the field as Boulder City was held off the scoreboard.

The win pushed Pahrump Valley to 22-5 and strengthened its grip on the top spot in the 3A South. MaxPreps had the Lady Trojans ranked No. 1 in Nevada Class 3A and No. 8 overall in the state as of April 16, and the site noted that Pahrump Valley had not allowed a run in its last three games. That kind of stretch changes the tone around a season quickly, especially in a league race where every road result matters.

Boulder City entered the game with a four-game home winning streak, but the shutout stopped that run and dropped the Eagles to 6-11. For Pahrump Valley, the sweep carried more weight than a single win. It showed a team from Pahrump, Nevada, closing games cleanly, getting contributions across the roster and turning strong pitching into a clear postseason position.

The Lady Trojans were scheduled to continue their road swing at Southeast Career Tech on Friday at 3:30 p.m., carrying an eight-game streak and three straight shutouts into the next test.
