Shadow Mountain Quilters Showcase Patriotic Art at Pahrump Weekend Show
A $5 wristband gets you two days of patriotic quilts, live fabric-arts demos, and a shot at winning an eagle-and-Declaration-of-Independence showpiece at Bob Ruud this weekend.

The Bob Ruud Community Center will fill with stars, stripes, and stitchwork this Friday and Saturday as the Shadow Mountain Quilters bring the 2026 Pins and Needles Quilt Show to Pahrump with a theme they call "American Pride."
The show runs April 10 and 11 at the community center at the corner of Highway 160 and Basin Avenue. Admission is $5 for a two-day wristband. Children under 12 and husbands get in free.
The centerpiece of this year's show is the 2026 Opportunity Quilt, a patriotic piece built on a dark field of pinwheel spirals surrounding a central military motif: a Bald Eagle, the American Flag, and a depiction of America's forefathers alongside the Declaration of Independence. Raffle tickets for the quilt will be on sale at the show, and the winner does not need to be present at the drawing. Additional raffle baskets filled with crafting items will also be up for grabs.
Attendees can watch fabric arts demonstrations throughout both days, and the bed-turning segment draws consistent crowds: a stack of quilts is laid upon a bed and displayed one by one while narrators tell the stories behind each piece, some comedic, some historical, some personal. Vendors are expected on-site as well, with past shows drawing suppliers including The Quilted Dragon, The Quilt Mobile, the Shadow Mountain Quilters' own boutique, Sister Rolls, and 108 Quilt Backing.
The annual Pins and Needles show is one of Pahrump's longest-running fiber arts events and a staple on Nye County's spring calendar. The Shadow Mountain Quilters, a Pahrump-based guild, use the show both as a public exhibition of members' work and as a vehicle for community fundraising.
