Walker Walks It Off Again, Pahrump Valley Tops Lake Mead 5-4
Jack Walker's second walk-off of the season capped Senior Day as Pahrump Valley edged Lake Mead Christian Academy 5-4. Vinny Whitney kept the Eagles quiet early before the Trojans rallied late.

Jack Walker did it again when Pahrump Valley needed it most, lining the game-ending hit in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Trojans past Lake Mead Christian Academy 5-4 on Senior Day at Pahrump Valley High School.
The home non-conference game, played Saturday, April 18, in Pahrump, turned into another late-inning test for a Trojans team that has leaned on senior leadership all spring. Pahrump Valley trailed 4-3 heading into its final at-bat before Walker came through with the bases loaded, giving the Trojans their second walk-off win of the season and sending the home crowd home with another memory from the Pahrump Valley High School baseball field.
Senior pitcher Vinny Whitney set the tone early. He worked six innings and held the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles scoreless through the first five before the game tightened late. That left Pahrump Valley in position to answer after the Eagles finally pushed ahead, and the Trojans did enough in the seventh to flip the result in front of classmates, families and players who were being honored before the first pitch.
Senior Day gave the win a larger meaning than the final score alone. The program recognized graduating players, including Whitney and Dominic Chiancone, with custom-made signs and a pregame celebration that underscored how much of the roster’s identity has been shaped by its seniors. For a Pahrump program built on small-school familiarity and community pride, the afternoon doubled as both a baseball game and a sendoff.
The finish also fit the pattern this group has created. On March 27, Pahrump Valley beat Virgin Valley 5-4 in the bottom of the 10th on a walk-off single by senior Vinny Whitney, another reminder that this season’s most important swings have often belonged to the players leaving the program behind. Tony Whitney entered the week among the team’s offensive leaders with a .532 batting average, a .603 on-base percentage, 17 stolen bases and 26 runs, while Dominic Wilson anchored the pitching staff with a 3.94 ERA. Lake Mead Christian Academy came in after a 1-5 loss to Centennial on April 15, but in Pahrump the Eagles were still one swing away from a different ending.
