Cornwall Man Arrested on Warrant, Crack and Heroin Seized on Route 9W
Michael Darrigo, 54, was arrested at his Route 9W home after police seized 71 grams of crack and 40 heroin envelopes in a months-long Cornwall investigation.

Michael Darrigo, 54, of Cornwall was remanded to the Orange County Jail after detectives executing a search warrant at his Route 9W home on March 17 found about 71 grams of crack cocaine, 40 glassine envelopes containing heroin, narcotics packaging materials, scales, and cash.
The operation was the result of a multi-month fugitive and narcotics investigation conducted jointly by the Town of New Windsor Police Department and the Town of Cornwall Police Department. Darrigo had an open Orange County Criminal Court warrant outstanding at the time of his arrest. He was arraigned in Orange County Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail; authorities say more charges may be filed.
K-9 Duke, working with New Windsor Officer Bell, alerted police to the presence of drugs during the search, providing the critical lead that uncovered the full cache of narcotics and paraphernalia.
New Windsor Town Supervisor Stephen A. Bedetti credited the outcome to sustained interagency effort. "This case is a direct result of months of tireless investigative work, coordination, and commitment to keeping our community safe," Bedetti said. "I want to personally thank our Detectives and Patrol Officers for their unwavering dedication, as well as our K-9 Unit and Officer Bell for their critical role in this operation." Bedetti also extended appreciation to the Cornwall Town Police and the Orange County District Attorney's Office for their contributions to the investigation.
The New Windsor Police Department announced the arrest on March 18, the day after the raid.
