LEGOLAND New York Resort Opens in Goshen, Orange County, 150-Acre Park
Legoland New York Resort opened in Goshen, bringing a 150-acre family theme park and a 250-room LEGO hotel that will reshape local tourism and hospitality demand.

Legoland New York Resort is now open in the Hudson Valley town of Goshen, Orange County, offering a new regional draw about 60 miles northwest of New York City. The family-oriented destination combines a 150-acre theme park with an on-site LEGO-themed hotel of 250 rooms over four floors, promising multi-day stays and expanded weekend visitation from the New York metro area.
The park features multiple LEGO-themed lands, interactive rides, daily shows, seasonal events and child-friendly attractions designed to extend guest stays. LittleKidBigCity reports the park contains more than 15,000 LEGO models made from 30 million LEGO bricks, and that the 150-acre theme park opened in May. The hotel sits "just steps away from all the fun" and markets itself as a "bricktacular sleepover" with two restaurants, an outdoor heated pool, an arcade, creative workshops, nightly children's entertainment and meet-and-greet appearances: "Meet LEGO characters, enjoy nightly entertainment in the lobby, build with a Master Builder, and more."
Visual touches and immersive elements aim to underline the resort's appeal to families. As LittleKidBigCity describes, "When you arrive at the property, you get a taste of what's in store. The GIANT LEGO Dragon greets visitors at the entrance. Watch him carefully; he blows steam out of his nostrils every hour!" The hotel lobby continues the immersive theme: "All the awesomeness starts with the lobby! Upon entry, you will see the Castle Play Space, an epic two-story LEGO castle structure that is made for play. Guarded by the Blackbeard LEGO figure, you can crawl inside and under the castle, build on the walls and play in the 'ocean' of LEGOS."
Legoland's package offerings encourage overnight stays: vacation packages include a LEGO-themed room, two-day park tickets, free full breakfast daily, a separate sleeping area for kids in every room, a heated resort-style pool and a special welcome gift for children. The resort is part of the Merlin Entertainments Group (London: MERL), a global operator whose ownership signals capacity for large-scale marketing and operational support.
Local economic implications are significant. The combination of a large theme park and a 250-room hotel is likely to boost lodging occupancy, restaurant sales and retail in Goshen and nearby towns, increase weekend and holiday traffic on regional roads and expand seasonal employment in hospitality and attractions. For local officials, the resort represents a new source of tourist tax revenue and a focal point for regional destination marketing. For small businesses, opportunities include supplier contracts, shuttle and parking services, and spillover lodging and dining.

Guest policies and safety reminders are already in place. Legoland's site notes: "Anyone visiting our Attractions acknowledges that they do so at their own risk." Operational rules include stroller limits: "Strollers must be a max width of 31" and a max length of 52"." The resort's service animal policy states: "Service animals that are specifically trained to aid a person with a physical disability are welcome. Animals whose sole purpose is to provide emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship or to serve as a crime deterrent are not permitted." Swim facilities require specified attire: "Proper swim wear is required on all Water Elements and Slides and may not have exposed zippers, buckles, rivets, or metal ornamentation."

LEGOLAND New York Resort is part of a broader trend of regional entertainment investments courting day and short-stay markets within driving distance of major metros; for Orange County residents that means more visitors, new business opportunities and a reshaped local tourism profile in the seasons to come.
