His stated priorities for the new term include emergency management, economic development, tourism, open space preservation, and keeping local taxes low, matters that will affect county services and budgets.

Steven M. Neuhaus took the oath of office for a new term as Orange County Executive on Monday, December 29, 2025, at the Government Center in Goshen. County Clerk Kelly Eskew administered the oath in a ceremony attended by Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta, members of the Executive staff, county department heads, and family and friends.
“I’m grateful to the residents of Orange County for their continued trust,” Neuhaus said. “We have accomplished a great deal together, and as I begin this new term, I remain committed to moving Orange County forward. We will strengthen emergency management, expand economic development opportunities, enhance tourism, and continue our work to preserve open space, ensuring that Orange County remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family. My top priority will continue to be keeping Orange County taxes low.”
Kelly Eskew added, “Congratulations on your successful re election as County Executive. Your leadership and dedication to our County are truly appreciated. I’m excited to continue working together and to build on our shared commitment to serving the residents of Orange County.”
Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta praised Neuhaus as a partner for public safety and first responder support. “County Executive Neuhaus has always been a strong supporter of law enforcement, particularly our Sheriff's Office. I am proud to stand beside him as both a partner and a leader in this County. His unwavering commitment to the safety of Orange County residents and our first responders is evident every day through his actions and leadership. He understands the crucial role that supporting law enforcement plays in building trust within our community. I look forward to working alongside him for another term. We are fortunate to have him as our County Executive here in Orange County!”
Neuhaus becomes the sixth person to serve as County Executive, a position he first assumed in 2014. His re election signals policy continuity for residents who rely on county services such as emergency response, public safety coordination, land use planning, and economic development initiatives. Promises to expand tourism and preserve open space link directly to local businesses and recreation economies across the county, while a pledge to keep taxes low will shape budget debates and priorities in the months ahead.
