Spring sports coverage for Orange County's high school teams got a structural overhaul this season, with the Times Herald-Record's Varsity 845 network moving away from weekly all-sports roundups and consolidating everything into a single landing page at the top of RecordOnline.com/sports.

The shift was in place as Times Herald-Record Sports Editor Ken McMillan released a comprehensive roundup of spring-sports scores and schedules on March 18, 2026, covering game results, upcoming schedules and regional playoff information across baseball, softball and lacrosse. Rather than publishing those results in a broad weekly digest, the new format routes readers directly to sport-specific pages, allowing anyone tracking, say, girls lacrosse or boys golf to pull up results without scrolling through every other sport.

"Varsity 845 has changed the way it will present Section 9 high school sports scores," McMillan wrote. "Instead of the weekly all-sports roundups, the website will host one web page at the top of RecordOnline.com/sports, with links to each individual sport - this will allow for readers interested in their favorite sports to find results and schedules quickly."

The spring hub covers ten sports at the high school level: baseball, softball, boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, boys golf, girls golf, boys tennis, boys outdoor track and field, girls outdoor track and field and girls flag football. The collegiate Varsity 845U arm of the network adds four more: baseball, softball, men's lacrosse and women's lacrosse, representing Mid-Hudson area schools. "There will also be links to collegiate Varsity 845U seasonal scores and schedules of our Mid-Hudson schools for quick access," McMillan noted.

Coaches and team representatives from OCIAA and MHAL schools are responsible for feeding scores into the system. The Times Herald-Record asks that coaches submit results and highlight information for both teams, including first and last names, win, tie or loss, as soon as possible after each game by emailing sports@th-record.com with a name and contact number included. The same address handles any questions about submissions or coverage.

The network can also be followed on X at @Varsity845 for high school updates and @Varsity845U for collegiate coverage throughout the season.
