Lance S. Gold, 20, of Unionville; Kurbonsho Davronov, 28, of Wappingers Falls; and Kevin Abraham, 29, of Valley Cottage were arrested after a multi-agency undercover operation caught each man attempting to arrange in-person meetings with who they believed were minors, New York State Police announced April 1.

Each defendant faces three identical charges: Attempted Rape in the Second Degree, a Class E felony; Aggravated Patronizing a Minor for Prostitution in the Second Degree, also a Class E felony; and Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class B misdemeanor. All three were remanded to the Orange County Jail with varying bail conditions and are scheduled to appear in Town of Newburgh Court.

The sting was led by State Police in coordination with the FBI Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force, the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the Town of Newburgh Police Department, the Hudson Valley Crime Analysis Center and the New York State Intelligence Center. Undercover officers deployed advanced cyber tactics to identify suspects who allegedly used the internet to set up in-person meetings with who they believed were minors. The detail ran over several days.

State Police described the effort as proactive enforcement aimed at stopping offenders before any real child was harmed. An ongoing historical investigation into each individual identified during the operation will continue, authorities said.
