Isaiah Holmes took the next step in a Fergus Falls pipeline that has been building all season, committing to Concordia College-Moorhead football after emerging as one of the Otters’ most visible senior standouts. The 2026 wide receiver, listed at 5-foot-11 and 165 pounds, gave Concordia another local name from a program that has already sent multiple players across the Red River Valley.

Holmes’ profile has grown well beyond one position. MaxPreps lists the Fergus Falls High School senior as a varsity wide receiver and free safety who also plays baseball, a sign of the range that has helped make him a college-level prospect. The Minnesota State High School League’s recognition page for Holmes highlighted the kind of teammate he has been for Fergus Falls, saying, “Isaiah is always finding ways to lift others up. He sets a strong sportsmanship example with his respect for coaches, officials and opponents.”

The timing fits what happened around Fergus Falls football this spring. Holmes was selected for the 52nd annual Minnesota State High School All-Star Game, and Fergus Falls head coach Chris Grabowska was named an assistant coach on the North squad, putting both the player and the program into one of the state’s top senior showcases. That honor came after a 2025 season in which Fergus Falls, an MSHSL 8AAAA program, won the Section 8AAAA championship and advanced to the state tournament.

Concordia-Moorhead had its own Fergus Falls ties already in place. Offensive line coach Joel King is a Fergus Falls native, a former Kennedy Secondary School player and a former Fergus Falls High School JV offensive line coach before joining the Cobbers’ staff. Concordia’s 2025 roster also included Fergus Falls products Griffin Babolian and Levi King, underscoring a recruiting path that has become familiar to Otter Tail County football followers.

That connection matters for a school like Concordia, a four-year liberal arts college in Moorhead with 22 NCAA varsity sports and an established football program that continues to recruit Minnesota players. Holmes’ commitment adds another local name to that list and reinforces what Fergus Falls football has been producing: players with size, versatility, and the kind of reputation that gets noticed far beyond Otter Tail County.
