X-ray equipment and physical therapy space sit inside the Fergus Falls VA clinic for the first time, part of a relocation that tripled the clinic's footprint and brought specialized services that veterans in Otter Tail County previously had to travel farther to access.

The Fargo VA Health Care System moved the Fergus Falls Community-Based Outpatient Clinic to 1205 West Lincoln Avenue, with operations beginning at the new address on September 15, 2025. The building, the former Sunmart on West Lincoln Avenue, was secured after the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs accepted Wayne Enterprises' proposal for leasing the space in late September 2023.

Veterans in the Fergus Falls area now have access to a facility three times larger than the previous location, with the expansion adding general radiology services, including X-ray and ultrasound, alongside other specialty care services including physical therapy. The previous clinic operated out of the Veterans' Home on North Park Street.

Fargo VA Public Affairs Officer Shawn Abbas pointed to the scale of the upgrade in VA materials, noting the added capacity allows services that were not practical in the smaller space. Otter Tail County Veterans Service Officer James Olson had said he was hopeful the bigger space would allow specialists to come to the clinic in Fergus Falls a couple of times a month, noting that while stationing a surgeon or cardiologist full-time is not realistic, "even just a couple of touch points like that is helpful."

The clinic maintains weekday hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST, excluding federal holidays.

A formal ribbon-cutting was always planned but took months to schedule. The Fargo VA Health Care System will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 29, 2026 at 2:00 PM CST at 1205 W. Lincoln Ave., Fergus Falls, MN 56537, to mark the grand opening of the expanded clinic.

The clinic remains fully operational in the meantime, with hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the West Lincoln Avenue location. Veterans with questions about services or appointments can contact the Fargo VA Health Care System through Public Affairs Officer Shawn Abbas.
