New Health Focused Eatery Alkemi Coming to Downtown Perham

Perham will soon add a new food and wellness destination as Alkemi prepares to open in the heart of downtown. Construction began in late December at 300 West Main Street, and the business planned to open toward the end of January. The venue will include a drive thru window and a compact seating area offering free Wi Fi, and it will launch with a condensed drive thru menu to maintain speedy service.

The menu focuses on health forward options. Customers can expect functional lattes with optional nutrient add ins, smoothies, and breakfast items available all day such as grain bowls featuring sweet potatoes, microgreens and proteins, and avocado toast. A grab and go cooler will supply salads and prepared items for residents looking for quick healthy meals. The drive thru model and grab and go offerings are designed to capture both commuter traffic and midday trade from workers and shoppers in the downtown district.

Owner Tiffany Van Watermulen indicated the food operation is the first phase of a broader concept. After the cafe is established she planned phased expansion into retail and health and wellness offerings. A pre opening ticketed tasting event will be scheduled, with details to be posted on the business Facebook page.

Economically, Alkemi represents a small but meaningful investment in downtown Perham.
