Perham Senior Aryanna Myers Sectional Champion Finishes Fourth All-Around at State
Perham senior Aryanna Myers capped a nine-year run in Perham gymnastics by finishing fourth in the Class A all-around with a 37.325 at Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

Aryanna Myers finished her Perham High School career with a fourth-place finish in the Class A individual all-around, posting a 37.325 Saturday night at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul on Feb. 22, 2026. The senior had made the meet her goal for the season and left the floor saying, "I was really happy with it. I left it all out there."
Myers came into state after a season that included a dominant sectional performance and a high-scoring regular-season dual. At the Section 8A meet she won the all-around with a 37.25, led by a 9.475 on beam to win that event and event scores of 9.275 on bars (third), 9.425 on vault (fourth), and 9.075 on floor (seventh). Perham finished third as a team at section with a 140.50, behind Detroit Lakes (147.275) and Melrose (142.275), and Myers was the only Perham gymnast to advance to state from the section.
Earlier in the season at a dual in Bemidji, Myers posted a season-high all-around of 37.675 while Perham beat Bemidji 137.825-133.3. That Bemidji meet saw Taylor Hanks of Bemidji score a 34.0 all-around and take first on beam with a 9.35; Mariah Johnson scored a 9.05 on floor for Bemidji. The Bemidji dual had been scheduled for a rematch at the Gym Bin at 6 p.m. on Jan. 20, part of the same regular-season stretch that helped Myers build momentum heading into section and state.

Myers has spent nine years in the Perham gymnastics program, a tenure that spans club and high school competition, and she entered her senior season with a single goal: return to state and "leave with a medal." At Roy Wilkins she placed in three of four events, a showing Myers and coach Kayla Keil framed as the culmination of that nine-year commitment. Keil told Myers before state, "I just reminded her that it's her last year and you've got to do what you know how to do and you got to leave it out on the table," and Keil added, "Last year she came and didn't have the meet she wanted and we didn't want to have that same result this season."
Perham program leaders said Myers' confidence at state grew from last season's experience; she had finished 12th at state the prior year and used that result as fuel to stay composed this season. Teammates and community support were central to her senior campaign, Myers said, "My head coach is amazing," and praised her teammates: "And this team, they're so supportive, they're so fun, and they work so hard even when they're hurt, even when they're not feeling the best, they're still there and they're still cheering." She also thanked local supporters: "And this community is amazing and they're so supportive and I know I'm never alone."

Myers leaves Perham gymnastics with sectional and state credentials and a record of leadership for younger athletes in the program. Photographs from the meet captured Myers and coach Kayla Keil in competition, documenting a season that mixed a regular-season high score of 37.675, a sectional title at 37.25, and a state all-around of 37.325.
