A wine-and-food pairing night at Spanky’s Stone Hearth turned into more than $17,000 for The Vault of Perham, money that will go toward equipment upgrades and more class options for local kids.

Vault Gymnastics recently held its second annual Vault & Vine fundraiser in Frazee and raised more than $17,000 for the Perham facility. The event was planned as a 21-plus evening with raffle packages and limited tickets, giving supporters a social way to back a youth program that serves athletes from toddlers to teens.

Before the fundraiser, the gym said it hoped to use the event to add classes and equipment. Those improvements should have the most immediate effect inside the gym itself, where better equipment can strengthen training for gymnastics, fitness and Ninja programs while helping the facility broaden what it offers families in the Perham area.

The Vault’s program serves youth ages 18 months to 18 years, which makes the equipment upgrades relevant across a wide range of ages and skill levels. Younger children are learning basic movement and coordination, while older athletes are working on more advanced gymnastics skills and competition preparation. Any new equipment or expanded class space can make that progression smoother and give coaches more room to build programming around different ages and abilities.

The fundraiser also fit into the facility’s growing identity in Perham. In December 2024, the youth gymnastics and fitness center was renamed The Vault and identified as being located at 815 Second Ave. SW. The building houses the community’s USA Gymnastics and high school gymnastics programs, giving the fundraiser a broader local reach than a single team or class.

For Perham and the surrounding area, the success of Vault & Vine is a sign of sustained support for youth sports and recreation. Spanky’s Stone Hearth provided the setting for the event, but the response came from the families, neighbors and supporters willing to buy tickets, take part in raffles and invest in a program that now has a clearer path to better training conditions and more opportunities for local children.
