Estill County shuts out Owsley County 14-0 behind Kaden Conley, offense rolls
Kaden Conley powered Estill County’s 14-0 shutout, leaving Owsley County with its second lopsided loss to the Engineers this season.

Kaden Conley set the tone and Estill County kept rolling. The Engineers shut out Owsley County 14-0 on Thursday, April 23, in another one-sided meeting between the teams, with Conley going 3-for-4, scoring three runs and stealing two bases.
For Owsley County High School, the loss was more than just another mark in the standings. It dropped the Owls to 7-13 and gave Estill County a second win over Owsley this season after an 18-1 result in March. Estill County moved to 11-9 and entered its next matchup having won eight of its last 10 games, a stretch that included seven victories by eight runs or more.
The latest shutout also fit a pattern that has defined recent meetings. MaxPreps had previously listed a 15-0 Estill County win over Owsley County in the teams’ 2025 season, and the April 23 game showed the Engineers again controlling the matchup from the start. A separate game recap said Estill County got on the board early and Owsley County never answered, a telling sign for a game that finished without the Owls scoring at all.

Conley’s night mattered because Estill County’s offense did not need a single long rally to break the game open. A player who can score three times and swipe two bags changes the shape of a lineup, and MaxPreps noted that Estill County has been especially dangerous when he produces at that level. The Engineers’ depth showed again, and their ability to create separation early left Owsley County trying to chase a game that never got close.
For Booneville-area fans, the bigger question is what Owsley County cleans up next. The shutout put the spotlight on pitching depth, defensive sharpness and whether the lineup can generate enough pressure to avoid falling behind quickly again. NFHS Network also pointed viewers toward replay access, a reminder that even a small-school game like this one now sits in a much wider digital spotlight.
