Perry County deputies seize 22-gram meth, pink pistol, cash on Ky. 80
Deputy Chris Jones stopped a 2004 Dodge Dakota on Ky. 80 and deputies seized about 22 grams of suspected meth, a pink-framed pistol, cash, marijuana and distribution paraphernalia.

Deputy Chris Jones wrote in the arrest citation that he pulled behind a 2004 Dodge Dakota on Kentucky Route 80 driven by Donita Everage, 55, of Curtis Hicks Drive in Carrie, after observing a crack in the windshield that would obstruct the driver's vision. The traffic stop on Feb. 13 led Perry County Sheriff's deputies to seize approximately 22 grams of a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, a semi-automatic handgun with a pink frame, cash, jars of marijuana, digital scales and numerous small baggies.
Deputies reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana when approaching the truck and say Everage admitted there was marijuana inside the vehicle. The vehicle's license plate had been reported stolen, according to reporting that detailed the scene and paperwork filed by deputies. Passenger Angela K. Beverly, 54, of John M. Stumbo Drive in Langley, was also taken into custody at the scene.
Photographs provided by the Perry County Sheriff's Office and described by local outlets show what was described as a significant rock of the white crystal substance in a clear bag and multiple items consistent with distribution. Hazard Herald noted two working digital scales and several snorting straws were recovered during the search, while ClayCoNews described a large quantity of small plastic baggies with peace-sign logos and several jars containing a green leafy substance identified as marijuana.
Both women were arrested and taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail. WYMT reported the exact charges filed against each: Donita Everage faces charges of "Trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree - first offense (greater than or equal to two grams of meth)," "Trafficking in marijuana (less than eight grams) - first offense," "Drug paraphernalia - buy/possess," and "Theft of motor vehicle registration plate." Angela Beverly faces charges of "Possession of a controlled substance in the first degree - first offense (methamphetamine)," "First-degree promoting contraband," and "Tampering with physical evidence."

WYMT additionally reported that after booking deputies discovered a small baggie Beverly had been hiding; deputies allege Beverly attempted to conceal the item while taking her hair down, dropped it, and tried to step on it before it was recovered. Hazard Herald reported both women had active warrants at the time of the stop, a detail recorded in the arrest citation authored by Deputy Jones.
The Perry County Sheriff's Office framed the operation in its posted material as "Friday night work... off the hollers." Local reporting noted the department initially withheld names in a Saturday morning statement while the investigation continued. "All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law," a standard legal presumption was included in the local coverage.
Investigators have not yet publicly released a final laboratory confirmation of the white crystal's composition or an itemized total for the cash seized. The arrest citation, PCSO photos, and booking at Kentucky River Regional Jail form the record available to date as the Perry County Sheriff's Office continues its investigation.
