The pastor of the Orthodox Baptist Church in Ary called the Perry County Sheriff's Office Tuesday after discovering someone had broken in through the back door and made off with items from inside the building.

Capt. Jessie Day described how investigators believe entry was made. "We was contacted by the pastor of the church. He stated that somebody had entered through the back door of this church," Day said. "Somebody had vandalized the back door to make the entry. Once inside, they ended up taking some stuff. Just small stuff."

Sheriff Joe Engle posted about the incident on social media, urging anyone with information, images, or video to come forward. The appeal has already generated some response. "At this time, we got a few leads and we're investigating and following up on them leads," Day said.
